Was wondering if you could point me in any direction on info about adopted Frenchies. I just recently adopted one, this being the second in the house, and thought I'm fairly educated I'd still like to read up more on behaviors. She's a good dog, just not eating really, more so picking. Understandable this is a Frenchie habit but I'm a little concerned. She's active and staying hydrated, too. She's taking awhile to warm up to our other FB so I'm just looking for a place with some infromation!
Hello there, dear Frenchie parent! I am honored that you have asked me this question, but being so far just a frenchie admirer, and not really an owner, I am a wrong person to ask about such a complicated thing. From what I know - to make a dog be interested in food and eating in general - you should make it work for food! Any challenges that are suitable for a frenchie like - looking for a hidden piece of food, playing fetch, even carrying a little backpack during a walk will do.
There is a good episode of “The Dog Whisperer” on the similar problem. The newfie is a super picky eater to begin with, but after a few weeks he turned out to be just fine. http://www.megavideo.com/?v=ISZZGPK8
Also I can recommend you to look for the information at http://www.frenchiespace.com/. This is the community of Frenchie owners where you can ask all your questions!
Here is a blog of the French Bulldog Rescue Network http://fbrnetworknews.blogspot.com/ - there must be the form that allows to ask the questions, if not - click on the Profile of the Frog Princess, there is an email address somewhere.
