Although I can't have one now because I'm still in the dorms, I know that one day I want to own a frenchie... However I'm really nervous by how many things you have to worry about. Like over heating and watching them so they don't play too much, etc. I'm used to having a dog that, besides the obvious, we don't have to worry about. Do you think the worries of owning a frenchie are worth it? (Obviously they would be look at those cuties full of character! but... idk I hope you know what I mean!)
I am in the same situation as you are, by that i mean - not having a frenchie yet. But I think that it is better to be over-aware than non knowing important things that may save your dog’s life. Obviously there are some issues, such as IVDD or breathing problems that a frenchie owner faces more often than owners of other breeds, but still each breed has its own problem, to say - big dogs like German Shepherd or Labs have hip dysplasia a lot, basset hounds suffer from ear infections, smaller doggies have all sort of anxieties etc.
Why am I saying it? Because if you care and try to stay aware - you will make a great pet owner, whether it is frenchie or any other breed. And the joy of owning a frog-dog, from what i heard, is worth all the trouble in the world!
