Because French bulldogs make the world better. Every day. This blog has no commercial purpose whatsoever. I just LOVE frenchies! Feel free to submit your image: dailyfrenchie@gmail.com

I post pictures of dogs that I have found in the interwebs and try to give a link for the original source, if possible. In case you are a photographer and want me to remove your picture, drop me a note and I will gladly do this.

QuestionCan you post this? Hi Everyone, for the past month my frenchie has been having some skin issues. After several skin scrapes the vet said its a yeast infection, but after a week on the meds she gave us, it has further spread along his back. His back has pink splotches with flaky/crusty skin. I am starting to wonder if he could have built up an allergy from his food. I would like to try to make his food from scratch. Do any of you make your own dog food? Can you share your recipes? Thanks! Anwser

Hi, Stefanie! I will definitely post your question and more so - i will do it on our FB page https://www.facebook.com/TheDailyfrenchie , so you can ask people and get answers immediately. However, from our experience with questions about this issue, the answer will be YES, it can be food allergy. French bulldogs are known to be allergic to chicken, many do well on food like salmon + sweet potato, or lamb + pumpkin. If you want to try that you shall gradually switch the food and see if there are any improvements for the next week or two. However, it can be enviromental allergies: dust, household cleaning solutions, pretty much anything. If you’re sure it is allergic reaction you can get a test on allergents at the vet’s to determine for sure what is causing the rash.

Regarding of food. There are lots of frenchie-lovers who feed raw diet, there are systems such as B.A.R.F. (I now it sounds funny, but it is short for Bones and Raw Feeding) and you can google it , but I would be very careful if you have no experience with feeding raw, because then you need to make sure the meat you give them is BIO and comes from farms where animals were not given steroids and antibiotics, and this is hard to trace.

Good luck!

PLEASE HELP BAILEY!

It is heartbreaking… Our follower Natalie is hoping for a miracle for her frenchie Bailey. The family got a really bad luck right before holidays and they even denied themselves a celebration to get their pup medical help. But as you know, when it rains, it pours, so after the tests Bailey was found to have bad spine malformation and will need an MRI and then a surgery.

I’m Humbly asking for Donations to help our Frenchie Bailey to ease her of the severe pain she’s in. If you feel it in your heart to donate please go here for the info, every little bit will help & I will be forever Greatfull:https://www.youcaring.com/helpBaileyfund

I forgot to mention that if you would rather buy something, you can go to my site:https://www.facebook.com/candlesngems1 for some great “Jewelry in Candles” and I get 30% of the profit which will all go towards Bailey. Thank u so much!!!
